The Palaniammal Kandasamy Charitable Trust is registered with the District Registrar of Chennai North vide document no. 1142/08 on 6th of March 2008 by Shri. K Chandramohan, son of Shri P Kandasamy, Donor, Founder and first Trustee of the Charitable Trust.
The trust is helping the socially and financially backward people (to develop sector-specific skill levels of the rural youth and make them fit for getting employment /self-employed).
Another milestone of our trust is to start educational institutions particularly transport education to serve the people in developing technical and driving skills. One of the burning issues in road transport is shortage of multi-skilled drivers / operators and road safety awareness.
The Trust has started NTC Institute of Driver Training & Research in a small way and dedicated to impart education on transport to the transport fraternity with the sole objective of creating qualified transport professionals.
Road safety and skilled drivers (Over Dimensional Cargo vehicle drivers) are a great cause of concern to the trust since the founder himself is a corporate transport operator and he pursued road safety and skilled driver training promotional activities in his transport company (NTC Logistics India (P) Ltd.,) even before creating the PKC Trust.
The Trust has partnered with NTC Logistics India (P) Ltd to organize various trainings and programs especially for drivers who drive Over Dimensional Cargo (ODC) Vehicles and also honor / motivate accident free drivers with cash awards/incentives at the hands of distinguished guests in an annual function every year. The Trust also celebrates road safety week every year throughout the state by conducting road safety awareness programs in collaboration with the Police and RTO departments.
